We may easily say that real estate market in Greece has changed dramatically in the last few years due to the implementation of major projects, economic stability, the country’s participation in the European Monetary Union, lower interest rates, the increase of living standards and the establishment of new financial instruments. New opportunities for residence (and even commercial) real estate projects continue and the opportunity for significant investments into the Greek second home sector is still great!

Even though the property market in Greece has seen some decline in demand in 2008, prices are certainly not likely to crash. Prices range from 2.500 euros per sq.m. up to 7.000 euros per sq.m. in high ranked areas.

If you have the cash, or are able to secure one of the elusive mortgages that are on the market, it is a buyer's market. Off plan is something to look at as builders may be forced to offer even greater discounts to get there projects finished incentives in the way of free air conditioning, fitted kitchens and furniture are being offered at the moment but all thing are negotiable especially in tight markets.

Last but not least, on top of the opportunity for the second home market, Greece offers some significant investment occasions for land development i.e. business and residential complexes, hotel construction, shopping malls ...

The above reality is also due to the stable political environment, steady economy and reliable judicial system which permeates contemporary business life.
